Welcome current and prospective EARS members.
On November 12, 2024, EARS was notified by the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that our application for 501(c)(3) non profit organization designation was approved. The effective date of this approval is September 4, 2024.
With this approval, EARS will now be able to pursue opportunities for grants from charitable foundations and other organizations. It will allow EARS to more easily accept monetary and equipment donations from members and the general public.
If you are thinking about making a charitable donation, please consider supporting EARS and amateur radio. With your donation, EARS can continue to make investments in our “shack” at the Springfield Justice Center, fund needed replacement of equipment at the EARS repeater, and allow pursuit of new amateur radio initiatives including EMCOM. Donations to EARS are tax deductible to the extent allowed by state and federal income tax regulations.
